Located at Lazy 5 Regional Park in Spanish Springs, The Hive is a uniquely designed 5,000 sq. ft. dome building, originally designed to store sand and salt for roads. It has recently been repurposed to serve as a recreation facility for the public. The Hive now features a full basketball court and is striped for two pickleball courts. It is currently open to the public during open gym hours and available to rent for private use. Potential uses for reservation groups include: private parties, sporting events, concerts or shows, educational facility, and/or other special events. This facility is located adjacent to the skate park and just west of the Nevada playground in the lower park near the soccer fields.

Open Gym at the Hive

Open gym at the Hive is free to the public, although donations are always welcome. The Hive relies on volunteers to stay open and expanded hours may be possible with additional volunteer help. See the next section for more information on how to get involved. Volunteers for basketball open gym are especially needed!
