Ready to apply?
Visit our Applications, Fees and Forms page.

All applications are accepted on the 8th of each month. If the 8th of the month falls on a weekend or holiday, applications will be accepted the following business day.

If you are submitting a physical application, please note that the Washoe County Community Service Department counter is open Monday - Friday from 8:00am to 4:00pm.

Pursuant to NRS 278.02327, Washoe County has just 3 DAYS to determine completeness of submitted applications.

*NEW* Development Application Submittal Requirements have recently changed, including a reduction in the number of paper submission packets required by the County. Updated submittal requirements are included in the individual application packets. Please review the updated submittal requirements, as updates will be effective with the September 8, 2022 intake cycle.

Did you know? Most development projects will be required to host a neighborhood meeting prior to application submittal.

The purpose of the neighborhood development meetings is to integrate community feedback into development plans before they are submitted to the County for approval.

CLICK HERE to visit the Washoe County Neighborhood Meeting HUB website.

This HUB site is the primary location for neighborhood meeting info, community input surveys and meeting summaries. Questions about which project types require a neighborhood meeting? Check out this handy flowchart.
