Independent Living
Washoe County Human Services Agency Independent Living Program Unit specializes in working with youth ages 14-18 years of age who are in the foster care system. By providing individualized case plans and services, we strive to prepare each youth for independence. Teaching skills such as: shopping on a budget, cooking, banking, general maintenance of a home, how to develop critical thinking skills, and how to access community resources, we help prepare youth for successful futures.
We also offer services to young adults ages 18-21 who have aged out of foster care by providing ongoing support and financial assistance.
