Family Engagement Center

When a child is removed from their home, often times, the parents’ only interaction with them is during a scheduled visitation. A key motivator for parents to reunify is to visit their child on a frequent basis in an environment that allows them to interact, play and learn healthy behaviors.  HSA believes family time should be facilitated in a place that is kid friendly, positive and provides many different options to engage with one another; inside and outside of the center. Children who are visited frequently by their parents exhibit fewer behavioral problems, show less anxiety and depression and are more likely to be successfully returned home to their parents.

The HSA Family Engagement Center is the first of its kind in Northern Nevada.  The center is a multi-use facility with an open, natural environment, that features various fun activities for children of all ages.  The center’s design and décor was strategically planned to stimulate reconciliation and create a safe, positive environment for parents and children alike.  The center is a place for families to meet, interact, relax and grow together.  Families working toward reunification now have a place of exploration and healing to call home.
