Payments Disclaimer

Online for Citations Department

  • Citation payments are accepted 24 hours a day when made online at justicecourts.washoecounty.gov/OnlineServices For additional help click here
  • Payments made online will have a processing fee. The fee is retained by the processing company, not the Court
  • Paying online for a case that has gone to warrant will not prevent you from being arrested. You must contact the Court to resolve the matter
  • Please have the citation number and the name of the person cited available for accurate processing of the online payment
  • If you are paying a citation in full and have not previously entered a plea, a disposition of guilty will be recorded and the case closed

Online for Criminal Department

  • Payments are accepted 24 hours a day when made online at justicecourts.washoecounty.gov/OnlineServices or www.GovPayNow.com
  • Only submit payments for criminal cases that have been sentenced and are not at warrant
  • Payments made online will have a processing fee. The fee is retained by the processing company, not the Court
  • Paying online for a case that has gone to warrant will not prevent you from being arrested. You must contact the Court to resolve the matter
  • Please have the case number and the name of the defendant available for accurate processing of the online payment

By Phone

  • Phone payments can be made 24 hours a day, seven days a week by calling GovPayNet at (888) 604-7888. The representative will ask for the "PLC". The PLC for Sparks Justice Court is a003b5
  • Please contact the appropriate department first if you do not have your case number at (775) 353-7600 during business hours M-Th 7:30 am - 5:00 pm (closed for lunch, noon to 1:00 pm); Fri 7:30 am to noon
  • Payments by phone will have a credit/debit card processing fee assessed. The fee is retained by the processing company, not Sparks Justice Court
  • Do not make phone payments for active warrant cases. Paying by phone for a case that has gone to warrant will not prevent you from being arrested
  • The Court will review all payments before they are fully accepted and processed
  • The Court will review payments during normal business hours only
  • Confirm you are paying the correct court - Sparks Justice Court

By Mail

  • Payments made by mail will need to be in the form of personal check, cashier's check or money order
  • Personal checks will not be accepted on cases with an active warrant
  • If you wish to have a receipt mailed to you, please include a self addressed, stamped envelope with payment
  • Please include the citation or case number and/or name of the defendant on the payment

Drop Box

  • The drop box is located at the northeast corner of the building for payments made after hours
  • The Court does not recommend leaving cash in the drop box
  • Please include the citation number or case number and/or name of the defendant on the payment
  • If you wish to have a receipt mailed to you, please include a self addressed, stamped envelope with payment

Collections

Defaulted payments will be referred to collections. A collection fee will be added to your case in addition to any late fees. The Court will accept full payment for your collection's case. You can contact the collection agency to submit full payment or make partial payments. 

Valley Collections will accept payments by mail, phone or online.

Warrants

If you are making payments for either a traffic citation or a criminal case and a warrant for your arrest has been issued for a failure to appear, failure ot pay fine, failure to complete sentencing requirements, or for any other reason, your payment will be rejected during the Court's normal operating hours. You must contact the Court staff to resolve any outstanding warrants. 

PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT PAYING ONLINE OR BY PHONE FOR CASES THAT HAVE ALREADY GONE TO WARRANT WILL NOT PREVENT YOU FROM BEING ARRESTED.
