Bumble Bee Atlas 2025

Join us this summer in collecting data as citizen scientists!

We are partnering with the Xerces Society to spread the word on their project focused on understanding the range and habitat of bumble bees in the west! Participants must complete a virtual training in order to perform surveys.

To join, visit the web page, and adopt a grid cell! Then, perform at least two surveys throughout the summer in that grid cell. Finally, submit your data to the database.

Some equipment is required for this procedure. Participants are expected to supply their own, though a limited number of nets and vials are available for check out at the Arboretum office. Email Hannah at hhill@washoecounty.gov to get more information!
