Building Permit Checklist - Engineering Items

Prior to starting your permit submission, it is suggested that general information about the project be gathered to one document for efficiency. This includes the permit number (if building permit has been submitted), staff reviewer (if known), zoning, address, APN and a short description of the project. This information is frequently requested by permit reviewing teams.

 

Standard Engineering Checklist (Items 1-13)

For each of the items below, the intent is to be able to answer yes prior to submission of a building permit. The reference for each requirement is also listed for additional research and information. 

1.0 Name/Address of Owner is provided on plan set. Ref: Standard of Practice

2.0 Name, address and phone number of the preparer are provided on the plan set. Ref: NAC 625.611

3.0 Address of Project is provided on plan set. NAC 625.611

4.0 North Arrow and Accurate Engineering or Architect Scale Provided. Ref: Standard of Practice

5.0 No Disclaimer Regarding Accuracy of Plans. Ref: NAC 625.622 & Standard of Practice

6.0 Structure Located in Flood Zone “X” (shaded or unshaded). Ref: 416.55-65; 461.7.

7.0 No Faults within Development, OR Fault Lines and Associated Setbacks are Shown. Ref: 610.15(f).

8.0 Zoning Setbacks, Property Lines, Easements, Street Rights-of-Ways are Shown. Ref: 406.05.

9.0 Existing & Proposed Structures on Parcel are Shown. Ref: 438.27(a)(3) & 438.29(a)(5)(v).

10.0 Existing Structures withing 15’ of Grading Shown. Ref: 438.27(a)(3) & 438.29 (a)(5)(v). 

11.0 No Structural Retaining Wall associated with this project. Ref: Standard of Practice

12.0 No rockery wall associated with this permit. Ref: 438.42
