Washoe County Encroachment/Excavation Permit (formerly Street Cut)

An Encroachment/Excavation Permit shall be obtained from the Washoe County CSD Engineering and Capital Projects Division prior to starting work within the Washoe County right-of-way.  The Permittee shall be a utility company or contractor licensed, bonded, and insured to do work in Nevada.  The purpose of the permit is to establish requirements for cutting, excavating, backfilling, restoring and maintaining public streets and alleys within the Washoe County right-of-way and is subject to the provisions required by Sections 85.058 through 85.115, inclusively, of the Washoe County Code.

County Requirements for Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD)

The purpose of the following information is to establish Washoe County requirements for Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) within the County right-of-way (ROW).  The information provided herein is intended to promote public safety and protect all existing underground facilities.  This is not a step-by-step procedural manual, but rather a collection of standard practices which must be followed in order to obtain an Encroachment and Excavation Permit (EE Permit) and perform HDD within Washoe County ROW.

Revocable Occupancy Permit (formerly Revocable Encroachment Permit)

A Revocable Occupancy Permit shall be obtained from the Washoe County CSD Engineering and Capital Projects Division before any person makes any obstacle or encroachment in the right-of-way of any public highway, road, street or alley within the Unincorporated areas of the County as required by Sections 85.056 and 85.05, inclusively, of the Washoe County Code.
