Washoe County Retirees
Medical - Dental - Vision
Washoe County offers its retirees comprehensive medical, dental and vision insurance coverage. Retirees have four health plans to select from:
- Self-funded Preferred Provider Organization (PPO)
- Sures Plan (Surest)
- High Deductible Health Plan with a Health Reimbursement Account
- Medicare Advantage Plan for those retirees and their dependents enrolled in Medicare
Determining your Benefit Costs: The Medical Plan Premium Chart provides the total monthly premium for each health plan offered, including the optional dental benefit. Washoe County pays all or a portion of the premium cost for retiree health insurance based upon the original date of hire and years of service with Washoe County. The total monthly medical plan premium will vary based on the medical plan and coverage level you select. Please note, retirees and their covered dependents must be enrolled on the same medical plan.

UMR High Deductible Plan
HDHP is adminstered by UMR and the United Healthcare Choice Plus network. Paired with a Health Savings Account (HSA) administered by American Fidelity Assurance Company.
