Women Shelter

Providing Safety, Support, and Pathways to Independence

The Women's Shelter at Our Place, provides a safe and supportive space for adult women experiencing homelessness. The shelter offers temporary housing, essential services, and access to resources that help residents meet immediate needs, regain stability, and work toward long-term independence.

Programs at the shelter emphasize personal safety, self-sufficiency, and empowerment, while providing connections to healthcare, behavioral health services, education, and employment opportunities tailored to the unique needs of women.

How We Support Women Experiencing Homelessness

Safe Shelter and Immediate Needs: Residents have access to secure sleeping areas, meals, hygiene facilities, and a supportive environment to rest and recover.

Personalized Case Management: Staff work one-on-one with women to identify goals, connect with community programs, and develop plans for long-term stability.

Health, Wellness, and Empowerment: Women are connected to healthcare, behavioral health support, education, and employment resources. Programs promote self-sufficiency, personal safety, and empowerment.

Campus Connections: Residents can access other Nevada Cares Campus resources, including the Resource Center, Safe Camp, Winter Overflow, and permanent housing programs, helping them move toward independence.

Helping Women Rebuild and Thrive

At Our Place Women-Only Shelter, we focus on creating a safe and empowering environment where women can regain confidence, rebuild routines, and plan for the future. Residents receive support to access healthcare, education, employment, and behavioral health resources, helping them develop the skills and connections needed to achieve independence. Every step is guided by staff who respect each woman’s goals and journey toward self-sufficiency.
