Providing Safe, Stable Homes for Every Stage of Housing Need
The Washoe County Housing and Homeless Services Division oversees a comprehensive range of housing programs designed to help residents transition out of homelessness, maintain housing stability, and achieve long-term independence. Through a combination of supportive services, financial assistance, and permanent housing options, these programs address the diverse needs of individuals and families in our community.
Whether residents need guidance to maintain housing, assistance in securing affordable units, or long-term supportive housing, our programs provide the tools and stability necessary to build a secure future.
How We Support Individuals and Families
Tenancy Support: This program helps residents maintain housing by providing guidance, education, and problem-solving strategies for rental stability. Residents learn how to manage leases, navigate landlord relationships, budget for housing costs, and address challenges that may threaten their housing.
Affordable Housing Trust Fund: The Trust Fund provides financial resources and incentives to expand access to safe, affordable housing across Washoe County. It supports the development of affordable housing units, provides rental assistance, and helps residents secure housing that meets their needs.
Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH): PSH offers long-term housing combined with optional supportive services for individuals and families who have experienced chronic homelessness or require ongoing housing stability. Residents live independently in private units while having access to campus resources if additional guidance or assistance is needed.
Helping Residents Build Stability and Independence
Our housing programs do more than provide a place to live, they give residents the foundation to thrive. By ensuring access to safe, affordable, and stable housing, residents can focus on building life skills, maintaining routines, and reconnecting with their communities. These programs foster independence, provide pathways to permanent housing, and support long-term stability for individuals and families across Washoe County.
