Public Comment Period
Public Comment Period Closed
The public comment period for the Swan Lake Updated Floodplain Risk Mapping Project officially closed on March 26, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. Washoe County thanks all community members who submitted feedback during this important phase.
While the public comment period has concluded, please note that the next opportunity for formal input will occur during the 90-Day Technical Appeal Period. This period is initiated by FEMA and provides property owners and other stakeholders the opportunity to submit technical or scientific data to support an appeal to the proposed flood hazard information.
Important: Although the 90-Day Technical Appeal Period is anticipated to begin as early as April 1, 2025, the exact start date is dependent on FEMA’s initiation and issuance of a determination letter. This website will be updated this website as soon as the appeal period is confirmed by FEMA.
For more information about the appeal process, visit the 90-Day Technical Appeal Period page.
