Retired from Truckee Meadows Community College after 25 years-2020, instructor, director of the E.L. Cord Foundation Child Care Center, Faculty Senate representative; formerly taught in WCSD as a Substitute Teacher; served on WCSD Safe & Healthy Schools Commission, Career & Technical Education, & Human Development and Family Studies Committees.

Government Background:

Current service as a WCSD School Board Trustee- District G At Large, elected to the 4-year term in 2020; in 2016, 9-month appointment to WCSD Trustee District G. Currently serve in a NV-Governor appointed position on the Early Childhood Advisory Council & Systems Alignment Committee.

Reason for seeking position:

Continue the work of maximizing what is working, eliminate what’s broken & concentrate on improvement. Continue to develop diverse & much needed Career Pathways, in an effort to address the question: “Graduate To What?” Pathways begin in our early learning classrooms & continue to graduation through hands-on experiences that engage students, spark interest & build intellectual understanding. Early Education of the Whole Child addresses all areas of a student’s learning; involving families is key to life-long learning. Families are the first & forever teacher. I will continue to champion the importance of building diverse educational frameworks that recognize “1-Size Does Not Fit All.” As an integral framer of the current WCSD Strategic Plan, I will continue to develop the what, when, where & how! I possess the requisite education, experience & intentionally to serve as a collaborative team of 7 trustee decision-makers & Stewards of the taxpayer dollars. As a WCSD School Board Trustee, I will continue to work diligently to provide: students with the education they deserve, employees with needed resources, families with opportunities for involvement in the education of their most precious gifts -children. As an elected official I respect, understand & embrace the role of providing our community with an informed, dedicated & kind voice.
