Junior Ranger Program

Get ready to discover some of the fascinating and fun things about your Washoe County Regional Parks, Trails, and Open Space! Park Rangers are the individuals who make sure that your parks are preserved and protected. Junior Rangers can help! Together with an adult or friend, you can become a Junior Ranger!

Welcome, Junior Rangers!

Becoming a Junior Ranger is easy and extremely fun! All you have to do is:

  • Pick up a copy of the Junior Ranger Activity Guide at your nearest Washoe County Regional Park office OR call a park office to have a guide emailed to you.
  • With the help of an adult or friend, work through the guide as best as you can.
  • Plan your own adventure (on page 6 of the guide).
  • View the Park Directory to find a Washoe County park near you to complete your Nature Journal (on page 4 of the guide).
  • Complete at least three Outdoor Activities (on page 7 of the guide).
