Melissa Mangiaracina was elected to serve as Justice of the Peace for the Incline Village - Crystal Bay Township in June of 2024. Judge Mangiaracina took the bench on January 6, 2025. 

Judge Mangiaracina received her law degree from the University of Denver College of Law, where she graduated with honors and received the Melanie Hardaway Award for Academic Excellence. Judge Mangiaracina has been licensed to practice law in Nevada since 2005. Judge Mangiaracina was also licensed to practice in California and Colorado from 2004 to 2024. 

As an attorney, Judge Mangiaracina dedicated her practice to helping her community, working as the Directing Attorney of the Senior Law Project for Washoe County, a Senior Attorney for Nevada Legal Services, and a Child Advocate Attorney for Washoe Legal Services. In addition to her legal practice, Judge Mangiaracina worked in several quasi-judicial roles, including as clerk for the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals, an Arbitrator for the State of Nevada, an Administrative Hearing Officer and Mediator for Washoe County, and as a Settlement Judge for the Nevada Supreme Court. Judge Mangiaracina also served as a Justice of the Peace Pro Tempore in the Incline Village – Crystal Bay Justice Court for eleven years prior to running for the bench.

Judge Mangiaracina has been sharing her love of the law and dispute resolution practices by training legal professionals since 2013. She spent five years at the National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges, where she provided training and technical assistance to judges and other legal professionals across the country and in Canada. Judge Mangiaracina co-founded the Mediator Training Center, where she provided basic and advanced mediator training across the country. Judge Mangiaracina has also had the distinguished privilege of serving as faculty for the American Bar Association, the Center for Court Innovation, the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts, the Nevada Supreme Court, the Nevada Administrative Office of the Courts, the Arkansas Administrative Office of the Courts, and Washington’s Administrative Office of the Courts, among others.

Judge Mangiaracina first moved to Incline Village, Nevada, in 1998 and is proud to call Incline Village her home. When she is not on the bench, Judge Mangiaracina can be found hiking, biking, or skiing on the trails around Incline Village.
