About the Incline Justice Court
The Incline Village-Crystal Bay Township Justice Court has been serving the Lake Tahoe region of Washoe County since 1980. The court is often referred to as the Incline Justice Court due to its physical location in Incline Village, Nevada. The court's jurisdiction is limited to legal matters that arise in the area surrounding Incline Village and Crystal Bay, Nevada and is limited by statute.
The legal matters handled by the Incline Justice Court include:
- Misdemeanor matters from arraignment through trial
- Gross misdemeanor and felony arraignment through preliminary hearings
- Criminal traffic citations
- Civil traffic infractions
- Eviction Proceedings
- Protective Orders for harassment
- Small claims matters (up to $10,000)
- Civil cases (up to $15,000)
In addition to customary Justice Court services, the Incline Village-Crystal Bay Justice Court:
- Administers court-ordered sentencing requirements including House Arrest, Drug/Alcohol Testing and Community Work Service for Defendants as an alternative to a jail sentence
- Provides Notary Public services at no cost to the community

COURT HOURS
The Court is open to the public and court staff is available during the court's normal business hours:
- Monday - 9a - 4p
- Tuesday - 8a - 4p
- Wednesday - 8a - 4p
- Thursday - 9a - 4p (except 8a - 4p on the first Thursday of each month); and
- Friday - CLOSED TO PUBLIC (except when called for testing)
- Saturday - CLOSED TO PUBLIC (except when called for testing)
- Sunday - CLOSED TO PUBLIC (except when called for testing)
DRESS AND APPEARANCE
Appropriate attire is required. Appearing in Court in tank tops, shorts or cut-offs is prohibited. Shirt and shoes are also required.
VIRTUAL APPEARANCE
All In-Custody Hearings are held via zoom Monday through Thursday at 7:45 a.m. CLICK HERE to join or view the virtual in-custody hearing calendar.
All other scheduled proceedings must be attended in person unless the court grants permission. Those that wish to request permission to appear virtually must file a Motion requesting remote appearance with the court at least 72-hours prior to the hearing. A Request for Remote Appearance is located on the Court Forms page of this website. If the court approves the motion, a link will be provided prior to the court time and date. Individuals appearing remotely are responsible for ensuring that their virtual devices are working properly prior to court. Failure to sign on to your hearing in a timely manner with a working device may result in a finding that you have failed to appear for your hearing and a warrant for your arrest.
MISSION STATEMENT
It is the mission of Justice Courts to promote and preserve the rule of law and protection of property rights by providing a fair, independent, and impartial forum for the peaceful resolution of legal conflicts according to the law. Further, it is the mission of Justice Courts to provide judicial services in such a manner as to: 1) promote access to justice; 2) adjudicate cases in an expeditious and timely manner; 3) utilize public resources efficiently and effectively such that it demonstrates accountability and engenders public trust and confidence; and 4) promote an understanding of the Courts as a vital component of the tripartite system of government, independent of and co-equal to the Legislative and Executive branches.
