HSA Contribution Limit Worksheet - 2026

The Health Savings Account (HSA) allows you to contribute pre‑tax dollars to pay for health care expenses such as deductibles, co‑pays, and co‑insurance.

You are only eligible to participate in an HSA if you enroll in the High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP). Annual contribution limits are set by the IRS.

For 2026, the limits are:

  • $4,400 for individual coverage
  • $8,750 for family coverage
  • + $1,000 catch‑up contribution if age 55 or older

Washoe County contribution amounts apply to those enrolled as of January 1, 2026. A prorated contribution will be provided for those who enroll after this date.
