Crisis Response System
Washoe County, in collaboration with the State of Nevada, is implementing a behavioral health Crisis Response System based on best practices from SAMHSA.
Goal of the Crisis Response System
The long-term goal is to provide timely and easily accessible support to individuals and families in crisis, reducing the number of people who present to emergency rooms and jails when a behavioral health response may be more appropriate.

Someone to contact. Someone to respond. A safe place for help.
Someone to Contact
24/7/365 crisis call centers provide free and accessible support to people experiencing acute crisis, barriers to care, or emotional distress.
Someone to Respond
Mobile crisis services offer timely, face-to-face support in the community, including rapid response and de-escalation.
A Safe Place for Help
Crisis receiving and stabilization services provide safe, short-term support and a welcoming alternative to emergency departments.
