    Registration Update Form

In Nevada, voter registration information is generally public. However, state law lets you protect your residential address and telephone number from being disclosed. If you’re a registered voter and concerned about your privacy, you may request that your address and phone number be kept off voter lists, public databases, or public inspection. This process is often called becoming a “confidential voter.” Any voter can become confidential by requesting it within the Registration Update Form. This confidentiality lasts until you request otherwise and does not need to be renewed.

Confidential voter's names will still appear on voter rolls, but your address and phone number will be hidden from the public.

This process only applies to your voter registration record. It does not remove your information from third-party sites or public records released before your request was filed. Becoming a confidential voter will NOT hide your party affiliation or whether or not you voted in previous elections.

Voters Requiring Protection

For those facing higher risks, such as survivors of domestic violence, stalking, or human trafficking, Nevada also offers the Confidential Address Program (CAP). This program gives you a state-issued substitute address and includes a more comprehensive voter privacy mechanism under NRS 293.5002. Not only is your address kept confidential, but also your status as a registered voter. This process is more involved and supported by the court, but it offers the highest level of confidentiality available for voters in Nevada. Those meeting the requirements can apply with the Secretary of State's office.
