E. Toward Net Zero: 4 Strategies and 77 Actions
This Climate Action Plan has 4 Strategies:
- Achieve County-wide Net Zero 2050 alignment
- Sustainable land use
- Reduce emissions at the source
- Produce cleaner energy
Tier 1. These 47 Actions will help Washoe County implement the CAP Strategies. We selected Tier 1 actions based on the values described on the previous page, including these specific criteria: potential size of GHG emissions reduction; equity as a primary outcome; community enthusiasm; existing alignment with partners; the County’s authority to act; and available resources and funding.
Tier 2. These 30 Actions can also help reduce emissions, but they may not meet many of the criteria listed in Tier 1. These Actions may be changed to Tier 1 if one or more of the criteria above changes. For example, we may move something from Tier 2 to Tier 1 if a new funding source emerges.
The numbers next to each Action in the Strategy sections do not indicate ranking. They are simply reference numbers to track Actions.
