Board of Equalization
The Washoe County Board of Commissioners is seeking applicants from the community to serve on this board.
This Board is charged with hearing appeals filed by property owners who do not agree with the value placed on their property for tax purposes by the County Assessor (NAC 361.624).

Membership

This Board is seeking applicants to fill the following vacancies:
  • Two (2) regular members with terms that will begin in January 2026 and are set to expire on June 30, 2026.
  • One (1) alternate member with a term that will begin in January 2026 and is set to expire on June 30, 2026.


Time Commitment

The County Board hearings are held from late January through February each year. Members are required to appear in person. Virtual participation is not allowed.

Emergency Medical Services Advisory Board Opening
The District Board of Health (DBOH) is looking to appoint an Emergency Room Physician to serve on the Emergency Medical Services Advisory Board.
The Emergency Services Medical Advisory Board is established to provide for concurrent review of present topics within the Washoe County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) system by the City of Reno, a municipal corporation in the State of Nevada, and the City of Sparks, a municipal corporation in the State of Nevada, and Washoe County, a political subdivision of the State of Nevada. The Board is comprised of six members: City Manager, Reno; City Manager, Sparks; County Manager, Washoe County; Washoe County District Health Officer; Emergency Room Physician (DBOH Appointment); and Hospital Continuous Quality Improvement Representative (DBOH Appointment).

Membership

This position is for a 3-year term beginning July 24, 2025, and ending July 23, 2028. Candidate is eligible to seek up to two additional 2-year terms thereafter.


Time Commitment

The Board is required to meet quarterly, or more frequently as circumstances require.
