Air Pollution Control Hearing Board
NNPH-Air Quality Management Division is seeking applicants from the community to serve as a Licensed Contractor on this board.
The Air Pollution Control Hearing Board (APCHB) holds hearings when a negotiated resolution cannot be achieved. Any person may bring an appeal to the APCHB if they feel they have been aggrieved in any of the following ways:
  • Received a denial, suspension, or revocation of a permit.
  • Received a suspension or revocation of a variance.
  • Received a Notice of Violation.
  • Where there exists a disagreement with conditions or amendments to a permit.

After receiving evidence and conducting a hearing, the APCHB shall forward its findings and recommendations to the District Board of Health (DBOH) for final decision.

Membership
This position is for a term of three years beginning on the date of appointment. Thereafter, the member may seek an additional consecutive term.

The Board meets as needed.

Debt Management Commission
The DMC is seeking applicants to fill two At-Large positions on this commission.
The Debt Management Commission (DMC) establishes the percentage limitation on ad valorem tax, prioritizes essential and nonessential facilities and services, and reviews proposals by municipalities to incur general obligation debt, levy special elective taxes, or issue certain types of securities. Additionally, the DMC evaluates annual statements of debt management policies and plans for capital improvement.

Membership
Applicants must reside in Washoe County and have at least 5 years of experience in public administration, public accounting, or banking. Applicants must not have a substantial financial interest in the ownership or negotiation of securities issued by the State or its political subdivisions. Members will be selected by the other members of the DMC.
At-Large members are appointed for two-year terms, with terms beginning on January 1, 2027. At-Large members are compensated $40 per meeting attended.

Time Commitment
The DMC meets quarterly, usually on a Thursday at 10:00 a.m., with additional meetings called as needed.

Washoe County Building Enterprise Fund Advisory Committee (BEFC)
The Washoe County Community Services Department, Building Program, is accepting applications from residents and/or business owners to serve on this committee.
The County’s Building Enterprise Fund Advisory Committee (BEFC) was created pursuant to NRS 354.59893 to review the operations of and may issue opinions or recommendations to the governing body of the local government concerning, without limitation:
  1. The adequacy of the fees that the local government charges for building permits;
  2. The financial objectives and annual budget of the program for the issuance of building permits; and
  3. Any other relevant issue related to the operation of the enterprise fund.

If you represent one of the following industries below, please apply:
  • A representative of the residential construction industry
  • A representative of the commercial development industry
  • A representative of the construction industry

Membership

This will be for a four-year term, set to begin at the time of appointment.


Time Commitment

The Committee meets once a year with the time and place to be determined.
