Capital Improvement Advisory Committee (CIAC)
The Washoe County Board of Commissioners is seeking applicants from the real estate, development, or building industries to serve on this committee.
The Capital Improvement Advisory Committee (CIAC) plays a key advisory role in Washoe County’s Regional Road Impact Fee (RRIF) program, in accordance with NRS 278B.150. When convened as an extension of the Planning Commission, the CIAC reviews and provides recommendations on updates to land use assumptions, capital improvements plans, and ordinances related to roadway impact fees. The committee's guidance helps ensure fair and effective implementation of the RRIF program and long-range planning for regional transportation infrastructure.

Membership

This position is for a four-year term beginning retroactively on July 1, 2025 and ending June 30, 2029. To qualify, applicants must:
  • Be a resident of Washoe County
  • Be involved in real estate, development, or building
  • Not be an officer or employee of Washoe County

Time Commitment

The CIAC meets approximately once every three years, or as needed.

Members receive $80 per meeting attended, consistent with Planning Commission compensation policy.

Washoe County Human Services Agency Senior Advisory Board (WCHSASAB)
The Washoe County Human Services Agency is seeking applicants from the community to serve as an Alternate on this board.
This Board serves to advise Human Services Agency, Senior Services on meeting the current and future needs of seniors: at a minimum in the following areas:
  • Development of long- and short-range agency goals
  • Input on programs, services and needs within the community
  • Reviewing the quality of agency services provided
  • Providing technical assistance, as applicable
  • Reviewing and making recommendations regarding the Division's proposed budget
  • Reviewing and providing input to director regarding community trends and needs

Membership

This will be for a four-year term, set to begin at the time of appointment and ending June 30, 2029. Washoe County is seeking an individual to represent any district as an Alternate Member.

The Committee meets monthly; members usually spend 2-6 hours per month on board-assigned business.
