Dangerous/Vicious Permit
Dogs that have been declared dangerous or vicious are subject to additional requirements under Washoe County Code Chapter 55 . Owners or keepers of a dog declared dangerous or vicious must comply with the requirements established by Washoe County Regional Animal Services (WCRAS).
Pursuant to Washoe County Code 55.760, owners of dogs declared dangerous or vicious must complete the required registration process and maintain compliance with the conditions applicable to the dog. Requirements may include approved confinement, liability insurance or a surety bond, microchipping, spaying or neutering, property inspection, and payment of applicable fees.
Important: A dog that has been declared dangerous or vicious must remain in compliance with all requirements associated with that determination. Owners should contact Animal Services before relocating the dog or changing the location where the dog is kept.

Fees
The current annual fee for a Dangerous or Vicious Dog permit is $500 per dog. For additional information about Animal Services fees, visit the WCRAS Fee Schedule .
