ADA Curbside Voting
Washoe County offers ADA Curbside Voting at all vote centers for voters with disabilities who need an accessible way to vote without entering the vote center. ADA Curbside Voting allows an eligible voter to check in, receive their ballot, mark their selections and have their ballot cast while remaining in their vehicle.
How can I vote curbside?
When a voter arrives at a Washoe County vote center, they should park in the designated ADA Curbside Voting space. The voter will call the phone number posted on the curbside voting sign and wait for election workers to come to the vehicle.
Election workers will bring the curbside voting cart to the voter. The voter will check in from their vehicle, just as they would inside the vote center. After check-in, the voter will be able to make their selections using the ballot marking device from the comfort of their car.
Once the voter has finished making selections, the ballot will be printed from the ballot marking device. The printed ballot will be placed into a secrecy sleeve to protect the voter’s privacy.
Election workers will then bring the ballot inside the vote center and cast it on behalf of the ADA Curbside voter. Chain-of-custody and ballot security procedures are followed throughout the process.
