The key responsibility of the Administration division is to provide the operational and strategic foundation necessary to support Washoe County’s technology environment. Administration ensures that resources, processes, and governance structures are effectively managed to enable efficient, accountable, and sustainable service delivery.
Core Functions and Responsibilities
Administration is responsible for supporting and guiding Technology Services through the following key areas:
- Planning
Lead and support organizational planning efforts to align resources, initiatives, and priorities with Washoe County’s strategic goals. - Strategy
Assist in the development, coordination, and execution of Technology Services’ strategic direction to ensure long-term success and alignment with County objectives. - Technology Governance
Provide leadership oversight to ensure accountability, compliance, and adherence to policies and governance standards while aligning IT with business objectives, delivering measurable value, managing risks, protecting systems and data, and optimizing resources efficiently. - Project Management Office
Standardizes and supports project management practices while monitoring performance, ensuring alignment with business objectives, and driving efficient, on-time, and on-budget delivery of technology projects. - Financial Management
Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning to ensure responsible stewardship of public resources and alignment with strategic priorities. - Personnel Support
Support workforce planning, staffing, and employee-related processes to maintain a capable and effective Technology Services team. - Communication
Facilitate clear, consistent communication across Technology Services and with County departments to ensure alignment, transparency, and effective information sharing.
