Washoe County Senior Services helps older adults live vibrant, independent lives by connecting them with trusted programs, resources, and services. From health and wellness to legal guidance, transportation, and lifelong learning, we provide tools and opportunities to make everyday life easier and more fulfilling.


Key Resources

AARP

AARP is a nonprofit organization that supports people over 50 in achieving their goals, strengthening communities, and advocating for issues like healthcare, employment security, and retirement planning.


Community Health Nurse

Our community nurse offers health education and disease prevention programs for seniors, including blood pressure clinics at senior centers.

Library Services

The Washoe County Library branch at Senior Services offers books, movies, music, internet access, and assistance with research or technology.

Northern Nevada Legal Aid (Senior Legal Center)

Provides free legal assistance to residents 60+ with civil matters, including:

  • Government benefits (Medicare, Medicaid)

  • Estate administration and probate

  • Elder abuse and exploitation

  • Consumer protection

  • Housing and eviction issues

  • Immigration matters

Medicare Assistance Program (MAP)

MAP volunteers provide free one-on-one counseling for Medicare, supplemental health insurance, and long-term care options.
