American Rescue Plan Act

The American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) relief package provides $1.9 trillion in funding, aimed at mitigating the continuing effects of the pandemic. The ARPA delivers $350 billion for eligible state, local, territorial, and Tribal governments to respond to the COVID-19 emergency and bring back jobs. Washoe County has been awarded $91,587,038 in State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds (Fiscal Recovery Funds).

The Fiscal Recovery Funds lay the groundwork for a strong, equitable economic recovery, by providing immediate economic stabilization for households and businesses, and by addressing the systemic public health and economic challenges that may have contributed to inequal impacts of the pandemic among low-income communities and people of color.  These funds also provide resources that can be invested in building, maintaining, or upgrading water, sewer, and broadband infrastructure.
