Washoe County Audit Committee
The Washoe County Audit Committee is composed of five members appointed in accordance with County Code 15.545. One member is appointed by the board of county commissioners and an alternate member is also selected to serve in absence of the primary appointee. The four additional members with appropriate expertise are appointed from at-large with two year terms. The county manager serves as the non-voting advisory member.
The purpose of the Audit Committee is to assist the Board of County Commissioners in fulfilling its policy requirements in accordance with Washoe County Code by providing oversight over the County’s financial statements, the systems of internal controls, the internal audit plans and reports, and the independent external auditor’s assessment of financial statements.
