How Pet Food Is Provided

  • Monthly Pet Food Distribution

Seniors age 60 and older may receive pet food during the monthly in-person distribution at Washoe County Senior Services. Distribution is held on the third Tuesday of each month from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., or while supplies last.

  • Meals on Wheels

Pet food is provided to the Washoe County Meals on Wheels program for delivery to participating homebound seniors who have pets.

  • Cold Springs

Washoe County Senior Services staff receive pet food that can be distributed to seniors through the Cold Springs Family Resource Center.

  • Sun Valley

Pet food is also provided to Senior Services staff for distribution to seniors at the Sun Valley Senior Center.

Supported by Our Community Partners

Most of the pet food distributed through these programs is generously donated by the SPCA of Northern Nevada. Additional food and supplies donated by Petco and members of our community also help support seniors and their pets.

Availability and types of pet food may vary based on current donations and supplies.
