Citizens Advisory Boards

Citizens Advisory Boards (CABs) are established by the Washoe County Commission. CABs conduct organized meetings which create a forum for residents to engage in dialogue, hear from subject matter experts, and share perspectives on community issues and matters of public interest with the particular CAB’s geographical area and within Washoe County’s governmental jurisdiction. CABs also assist and advise Washoe County on such issues and matters of public interest through collaboration with the applicable county commissioner, as well as the Washoe County Commission.

Each CAB has set meeting dates and times and are updated quarterly: Q2 CAB Meeting Schedule and Q3 CAB Meeting Schedule- 2026. Meetings are subject to change or cancellation, so please visit the CAB page three days prior to the scheduled meeting to see agendas or cancellation notifications. 

There are 8 CABs representing different geographical regions within Washoe County, divided by district and areas with similar concerns. These are:

The geographical boundaries of each CAB are established through geographic information systems (GIS) mapping, as provided in the Washoe Regional Mapping System, which can be accessed here

CAB Members are appointed by the Commissioner within their district for three-year terms. To apply for consideration to be a CAB member, click here.
