Reason for seeking position:

I have lived in Sparks NV since leaving the Army in 1988, I have raised 4 wonderful children, watched Spanish Springs grow, I purchased my home in 1996, And have watched unprecedented growth in that time. Eight years ago I ran for city council for ward 5 in Sparks, I lost that race, but in losing i found a greater appreciation for this City County and state than i ever would have imagined. I walked over 7500 houses that year and talked personally to over 2500 members of our community. when i started i had a narrow gaze on what i saw were course correction that the city needed to make. but i learned so much more. Issues around closed community pools, traffic , lack of good grocery stores since the STAR bonds went in. I see so many of those types of issues only getting worse with Washoe county becoming a bedroom community to our surrounding counties. This forces our taxes up to support businesses outside our county. We need to take care of our community and the people in it for they will still be here long after the corporations make their money and leave.
