We envision a Washoe County where homelessness is rare, brief, and non-recurring. Our mission is to prevent homelessness, support long-term housing stability, and connect individuals and families with the services they need to thrive.
What We Do
Regional Leadership and Coordination: The Division oversees the Continuum of Care (CoC) and fosters collaboration among local agencies, organizations, and stakeholders. In partnership with Built for Zero, a national initiative to measurably end homelessness, Washoe County uses data-driven approaches to improve outcomes.
Shelter and Support Services: The Nevada Cares Campus serves men and couples, while Our Place supports women and families, offering emergency shelter and a range of supportive services. Outreach, case management, and behavioral health programs connect residents with the resources needed to regain stability and transition to permanent housing.
Housing and Stability Programs: The Division manages programs such as permanent supportive housing, tenancy support, and the Affordable Housing Trust Fund. By coordinating regional housing resources, we ensure individuals and families have access to safe, affordable housing.
Building Stronger Communities, Together
Washoe County Housing and Homeless Services partners with individuals, families, service providers, and community organizations to ensure everyone has access to safe and stable housing. Through collaboration, coordinated care, and supportive resources, we work to prevent homelessness and promote lasting stability across the community.
