Grading Permits for Subdivisions
Programs l Forms & Resources l Regulations | Contact Us
The Health District will not approve grading permits or allow grading on subdivisions until the water system and sewer system improvement plans have been approved, and the final subdivision map has been signed off by the Health District.
In the past, the Health District allowed grading of subdivisions on community sewer and water prior to final map approval. This practice caused water system design problems for the water purveyors, as it is a violation of the subdivision and public water system construction regulations.
Engineering firms should work closely with the water purveyors during the tentative subdivision map process, making this change has little impact on the timing of construction.
If you have any questions or would like additional information, please contact James English, Environmental Health Services Supervisor at jenglish@washoecounty.gov.
