Drug Overdose Prevention

- The Washoe County Health District co-chairs the Washoe County Substance Abuse Task Force to share drug overdose prevention information across community partners, highlight local Substance Use Disorder prevention efforts, initiatives, programs, and emerging solutions, and advocate for evidence-based public policy reform.
- The District coordinates with our internal programs and external partner agencies to implement Harm Reduction strategies and supplies for the community, including increasing access to Naloxone overdose reversal medication and; helping to coordinate the establishment of Harm Reduction vending machines in high drug overdose areas in the community.
