The workplace is a key part of improving the health of our community. Most adults spend more of their waking hours at work than anywhere else, making it an important place to promote healthy habits. Workplace culture and environment can influence individual behavior and can help employees up a healthier lifestyle.
Workplace wellness programs having varying approaches, for example lifestyle management programs (improving eating and exercise habits and encouraging tobacco avoidance) and disease management programs (management of chronic diseases such as heart disease, diabetes, and emphysema). Employers are encouraged to identify their workplace wellness goals and create a program that works best for them.
