Bitterbrush to Nature Trail @ Galena Creek Regional Park

Join us for a Ranger Walk along the banks of Galena Creek as we hike the 1.2 mile interpretive Nature Trail and the Bitterbrush Trail. Out and back, this walk will cover nearly 2 miles total. This hike will offer the opportunity to learn more about the natural and historical features that make Washoe County's oldest regional park so unique, while enjoying the beautiful colors of spring wild flowers on display. The Bitterbrush and Nature Trails are easy-medium in difficulty, with nearly 200 ft. elevation gain with some narrow, uneven terrain, and will take an hour to 90 minutes to complete, weather permitting.

The meeting location will be next to the information board on the north end of the Bitterbrush Trail, located within the north entrance to Galena Creek Regional Park at 18250 Mt. Rose Highway (at the end of the road beyond the Galena Creek Visitor Center) across from the Bearmat Group Picnic Area. Drinking water and restrooms will be available nearby.

Please bring your water bottle and sun protections!

The entrance to Golden Eagle Regional Park is on Vista Boulevard; enter the park and proceed on Home Run Drive for 0.6 miles; turn right onto Hans Berry Drive (follow signs for BLM access) and proceed 0.6 miles; look for the Pah Rah Interpretive Trail parking on the right.
