Lazy 5 Summer Music Series
Thanks to the support of many local business sponsors, Lazy 5 Regional Park hosts a free Summer Music Series annually for Sparks and Spanish Springs residents featuring quality entertainment of a variety of local and regional artists and genres. The series has grown in popularity and attendance over the years with over a thousand family members, friends and neighbors coming together to enjoy a nice summer evening of free music under the trees. Each concert night also has a food truck and mobile pub on site so there are always dinner and drink options for those who are hungry or thirsty. The series runs Wednesday evenings from mid June to mid August. Check the Lazy 5 Regional Park Facebook page for schedule, details and updates.
Junior Ranger Program
Park Rangers are the men and women you see in uniform patrolling our parks. Their primary goal is to make sure the parks are preserved and protected. Junior Rangers can help! Together with an adult or friend, use the Junior Ranger Activity Guide to learn more about safety, wildlife, ecology, and activities you can enjoy in the park. Then, earn a certificate and "badge" once you've completed the activities and turned in the evaluation form! More information here.
In partnership with the Washoe County Library System and the Washoe County School District, our story strolls promote reading, highlight our local parks, and engage our community.
