When: Late April- first half of June, Tuesdays & Thursdays 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Cost: $3 donation per student, chaperones/teachers free.

The Wilbur D. May Arboretum & Botanical Garden invites you and your students to explore the gardens using the five senses on our Sensory Buds station tour. Each station will represent one of the five senses; Sight, Hearing, Smell, Taste, and Touch.
Led by passionate docents and staff, stations will provide hands on opportunity for students to observe, engage, and discuss the different types of plants in our outdoor classroom. In addition, students will learn the essentials of what plants need to survive, how they change their environment to do so, and how seeds sometimes do not look like their parents.
This field trip opportunity meets Next Generation Science Standards and Nevada Academic Content Standards. Each station is aproximatley 10 minutes long, with the field trip lasting 1.5 hours max but can be accommodated to meet your classroom needs. A Do-It-Yourself Nature Kit
Where: Wilbur D. May Arboretum & Botanical Garden
When: Late April- first half of June, Wednesdays 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Cost: $1 rental fee per backpack, chaperones/teachers free.

Wilbur’s Explorer Pack provides you with the opportunity to craft an outdoor classroom for your students at the Wilbur D. May Arboretum. Each backpack includes a bird guide, tree guide, magnifying glass, pencil, clip board, and leaf rubbing template. In addition, we have created an Explorer Guide with activities that meet Next Generation Science Standards.
