Reno, Nev. October 24, 2019. Washoe County officials are excited to announce the ribbon-cutting event for the completion of the first new public art piece for the Washoe ArTrail project at Crystal Peak Park this Tuesday, October 29 at 3 p.m.

The Washoe ArTrail, a public participatory experience seeks to highlighting the cultural, historic and artistic landmarks along a 200-mile trail.

“This is another example of how Washoe County, in collaboration with our partners, are dedicated to promoting and cultivating the arts here in Washoe County”, says Gabrielle Enfield, Washoe County Grants Administrator.

Washoe ArTrail Ribbon-Cutting Event:

When:  Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at 3 p.m.

Where:  Washoe County Crystal Peak Park, 561 Crystal Park Road, Verdi.

What:  Celebrate Washoe ArTrail’s first new public art piece that was created on-site with participation from community volunteers, with a ribbon-cutting event.

Who:  Washoe County officials, ROAM Collective artist group and Burning Man staff.

Background on Washoe ArTrail: After receiving a $75,000 Our Town grant from the National Endowment for the Arts, Washoe County, in partnership with Burning Man and numerous local nonprofit and municipal partners, will establish the Washoe ArTrail with the purpose of connecting the community to the arts, history and culture of our northern Nevada region. The ArTrail will route along the Truckee River through the cities of Reno and Sparks, turn north to historic Lake Pyramid on Paiute Tribal land, and continue to Gerlach in the far northern region of Washoe County, over 200 miles.
