Fall Story Stroll “opens the book” on outdoor family fun
Washoe County hosts Story Stroll beginning September 21

Reno, Nev. Sept. 16, 2019. Washoe County Regional Parks and Open Space, in partnership with the Washoe County Library System, is offering the third annual Story Stroll to promote reading, highlight our local parks, and engage our community.

The Fall Story Stroll will take place at Davis Creek Regional Park, along the .7 mile loop Nature Trail. Each page from the children’s picture book, "Bear Has a Story to Tell", by Philip C. Stead, will be mounted along the trail for participants to read as they stroll around the pond, one page at a time.

WHAT: Washoe County Parks Fall Story Stroll

WHEN: September 21-October 5, 2019, during regular park hours.

*Ranger-led strolls will take place on Saturdays at 11 a.m.

WHERE: Davis Creek Regional Park, 25 Davis Creek Rd., Washoe Valley, NV (beginning of Nature Trail).

DETAILS: Free and open to the community.

Fall Story Stroll Schedule:

• September 21 – October 5: Self-led strolls during park hours
• September 21 – Ranger-led stroll at 11:00am with Library activities
• September 28 – Ranger-led stroll at 11:00am with Library activities
• October 5 – Ranger-led stroll at 11:00am with Library activities

“With the success of our first two strolls, we are so excited to offer our third stroll this fall featuring the children’s story, Bear Has a Story to Tell, an endearing story of friendship and patience” says Nick Steuer, Park Ranger.
