Health District launches new mobile application to check restaurant ratings

RENO, NV - April 15, 2019 - WashoeEats, a new free mobile application from the Washoe County Health District that allows users to review Washoe County food establishment inspection results, is now available. The app provides the most recent inspection results for more than 3,600 restaurants, delis, grocery stores, food trucks, and other retail food establishments in the county.
App users can search inspection results by business name and location, and access details about inspections including violations and inspector’s comments. Updated daily, new features that make the app different from information now available on the WashoeEats website include the abilities for users to save establishments to a favorites list, to display a map of nearby restaurants with color-coded pins showing inspection ratings, and, to file a complaint for a specific establishment.
“The restaurant scene in the Reno area has seen rapid growth in the last several years, and we’re working closely with food establishments to help ensure food safety in Washoe County for residents and visitors,” said Director of the Environmental Health Services, Chad Westom. “This innovative new app provides consumers with information they need to make informed decisions on where to eat. The Washoe County Health District is committed to making information available to the public and improving the quality of life for residents and visitors to Washoe County,” Westom said.
