Washoe County Receives 16 Qualified Applicants to fill Nevada State Assembly District 30

Reno, Nev. March 20, 2019. Washoe County has received 16 qualified applicants of whom one will be appointed by the Board of County Commissioners to represent Nevada State Assembly District 30, previously occupied by Mike Sprinkle who resigned Thursday, March 14, 2019.

The 16 applicants have met all of the following criteria:

  • Applicant submitted a completed application by the stated deadline of Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at 5 p.m.
  • At least 21 years old and registered to vote.
  • Reside in the district he or she is seeking to represent. Assembly District 30 map available by clicking here.
  • Be of the same political party as the resigning member. Sprinkle is a Democrat.

The appointee will serve until the election in November 2020, when voters will select the representative for the seat.

The Washoe County Board of Commissioners will be reviewing applications and may make a decision during their regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday, March 26, 2019.
