Reno, Nev. October 18, 2018. Taking the place of the traditional State of the County annual address and turning it into a dynamic event that highlights county employees and programs, is the catalyst behind tonight's event: the 2018 Washoe Impact Awards.

County Manager, John Slaughter, will be hosting an evening that highlights the work done over the last year as guided by the Washoe County Strategic Plan, and the people who make it happen – Washoe County employees. In addition, four awards for county programs that have gone above and beyond serving the community, will be presented.

2018 Washoe Impact Awards

What: An annual event that shares the impactful work Washoe County employees do all year, along with an awards presentation.

Who: Washoe County Manager, John Slaughter, leading the event in addition to Washoe County Commissioners, community leaders, elected officials and Washoe County employees.

When: Thursday, October 18, 2018

             Reception begins: 4:30 p.m. in the Washoe County Complex, Atrium

             Awards event begins: 5 p.m. in the Washoe County Complex, Chambers   

Where: Washoe County Complex, Bldg. A, 1001 E. 9th St. Reno, Nevada (Atrium & Chambers)

Note to media: Multiple videos will be played, awards presented, community leaders and elected officials in attendance as well as interview opportunities with County Manager, John Slaughter following the presentation.
