Washoe County Library System Launches Technology Survey
Community Input Requested Through the Month of April 2018.

The Washoe County Library System’s mission is to make new technologies more accessible to the community through public computing stations, instructional classes and innovative programming.

The Washoe County Library System’s recently approved Strategic Plan illustrates plans to enhance and expand services including increasing the number of technology instruction classes and supporting upgrades to the public computing and instructional lab spaces.     Please help the Washoe County Library System develop these plans by taking the Technology Training Survey, available through the month of April.  Results of this survey will inform smart internal planning, strategy, and resource allocations.  According to Washoe County Library System Director, Jeff Scott, “Collecting patron-level data on library technology use is tremendously beneficial to public libraries.   Understanding our community’s unique technology needs is essential to providing patrons with useful technology services.”  Director Scott continued, “With the completion of this survey, the community will also help the library increase advocacy strategies for developing sustainable funding sources for public access Internet services and resources.”

Overall, the goal is to better serve the community. The data will help document the Washoe County Library System’s ever-growing needs for technology and connectivity and help the Library System decide what type of equipment, databases, and programs to include in support of the community’s technology needs.

Please visit www. washoecountylibrary.us  to complete the survey.   All responses are anonymous. Thank you for helping the Washoe County Library System!
