Reno, Nev. Jan. 5, 2018. Washoe County Regional Parks and Open Space is excited to announce that Rancho San Rafael Regional Park will host the USA Cycling Cyclocross National Championships, taking place January 9-14. As the Cyclocross National Championship gears up to thrill crowds at Rancho San Rafael, the park will transform to accommodate this off-road, adventuresome style of riding.

As a proud sponsor and venue host, Rancho San Rafael Regional Park will be fitted to allow the bike course to be built throughout the park. With schools and families on winter break, and the clear winter weather bringing park frequenters out, Rancho San Rafael Regional Park will have limited access due to ongoing event preparations, beginning Friday, January 5.

Closed Park areas include:

  • The main playground
  • The Peavine and Pagoda picnic areas
  • The Nevada Farms and Families area
  • The main turf throughout the park

Open Park areas include: A portion of the multi-use pasture, which allows off-leash dogs, will remain open as well as the Wilbur D. May Museum and Arboretum, and the entire north side of the park including The Ranch disc golf course.

Accessibility and parking: The north side of the park will only be accessible from the Reno Sport Complex parking area. Parking throughout the park will be extremely limited.

This limited Park access will begin Friday, January 5 through January 15.
