Summer breeze makes Washoe County seniors feel fine

Reno, Nevada. June 9. 2017. Blistering hot, summer days and nights are on the way in northern Nevada and keeping Washoe County seniors cool is a real concern this time of year. KOLO TV and Washoe County Senior Services are proud to announce the return of the Fan Drive for Washoe County seniors during the summer of 2017. The community is encouraged to donate new fans for seniors who have no way of staying cool.

Seniors, ages 60 and older, who do not have air conditioning or are in need of a fan to help cool their home are encouraged to contact Washoe County Senior Services at (775) 328-2575 or stop by the Senior Center at 1155 E. 9th Street, Building E.

What: KOLO Summer Fan Drive for Seniors

Where: New fans must still be in the box and dropped off or picked up at Washoe County Senior Services at 1155 E. Ninth St., Building E, Reno.

When: June 9 through Aug. 31, 2017. Drop off or pick up between 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday-Friday

Details: Only donations of new fans in the box will be accepted. To qualify for a fan, recipients must be 60 years of age or older. Seniors without air conditioning and those who have not previously participated in the program are a priority.
