Join the Truckee River Fund Advisory Committee
Washoe County begins recruitment process by accepting resumes and letters of interest.
Reno, Nevada. Feb. 17, 2017. Washoe County is accepting letters of interest and resumes for persons living in Washoe County who are interested in serving on the Truckee River Fund Advisory Committee.
The Truckee River Fund, an advised fund administered by the Community Foundation of Western Nevada, was established in 2005 for the purpose of protecting the Truckee River and its tributaries.
The Advisory Committee comprises nine members, consisting of three members selected by each of the City of Reno, the City of Sparks and Washoe County. The Washoe County Board of Commissioners will appoint the Washoe County member at one of its regularly scheduled Board meetings. None of the members of the Advisory Committee may be elected officials. The Advisory Committee meets at least quarterly, generally on Fridays from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m., to consider projects for funding, review completed project reports, and hear reports about work being done to protect and enhance the Truckee River.
Ideal Advisory Committee members will have committed to preparing for and attending quarterly advisory meetings and special meetings deemed necessary by the Advisory Committee; have a background in technical areas not already reflected in the current makeup of the Advisory Committee; are very familiar with the Truckee River watershed; and bring technical expertise that helps with evaluation and selection of projects. Committee members are not compensated.
