Work Program and Community Service

Youth may be assigned to Washoe County Department of Juvenile Services Work Program by their Probation Officer or Case Manager.  Youth may be offered the option of performing their community service hours at a local non-profit agency of the family’s choosing.  If you have any questions about Work Program, please call 775-325-7919.

Work Program This is a community service program operated by Juvenile Services. The program takes place on the weekends during the school year and during the week while youth are on school breaks. The program operates from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm. Youth are responsible for reporting to 650 Ferrari-McLeod, each and every scheduled day. If a youth is unable to attend, a parent/guardian must call 775-325-7919, before 7:30 am on each scheduled day. In addition, the Probation Officer or Case Manager must be called to reschedule the missed days. Work program rules

Community Service The purpose of community service is to hold youth accountable to the community for delinquent acts. Assigned youth are responsible to find a non-profit agency, keep track of the hours worked and turn that information into their Probation Officer or Case Manager.
