Probation Services

The Department of Juvenile Services provides probation services to all youth who have been placed under a court ordered supervision status.  There are two main types of supervision that are monitored by our department:

  • Formal Probation
  • Supervision & Consent Decree

Probation status is determined by the court based on assessments, evaluations, circumstances of the case, offenses charged and family dynamics, all of which are presented to the court at the youth’s hearing.  This in turn, determines which unit and Probation Officer will handle the case once supervision is ordered.

Once a youth is placed on a supervision status, the assigned Probation Officer assigned will help the youth and family by implementing individualized case management strategies and monitoring the juveniles progress to ensure compliance.
