Volunteer Orientation
The MRC Volunteer Orientation classes are held on a monthly basis; some are held during the lunch hour and others are held in the evening. Classes are conducted in the EPHP conference room located on the second floor in Building "B" at the County Complex on 9th St. and Wells Ave.
Please contact us by email if you would like to schedule an appointment.
CPR and First Aid classes
The Washoe County MRC unit offers free CPR/First Aid classes to MRC volunteers. In order to sign up for any of the MRC’s free classes you must be a member of the MRC who has completed the required ICS 100, ICS 200 and ICS 700 courses, have the required vaccinations and attended an MRC Orientation session. The CPR classes are offered periodically.
If you are an active MRC member, please contact us by email to sign up for a CPR/First Aid class.
National Incident Management class and Incident Command System classes
If you have not already completed the IS-700 class, the ICS-100 or ICS-200 course, please log on to the following web links to take the on-line tutorial, followed by the on-line exam. Be sure to allow about three hours for the ICS-100 course, and about two hours for the ICS-200 and IS-700 class. To find out more about FEMA's online training opportunities, please view their training catalog. Upon completion you will receive an email from FEMA that includes a web link to your certificate of completion -- be sure to forward that email to David Gamble for your records.
