Donate & Volunteer
We welcome those interested in donating unused personal protective equipment or volunteering to assist with COVID-19 response efforts, but we’re reminding the public that self-isolation is the most important action you can take to help prevent spread of COVID-19 during this pandemic.
The Washoe County Health District (WCHD) Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) is accepting volunteer registrations of public health, medical, and other individuals. If you are interested in sharing your medical experience as a volunteer and sign up as a Washoe County MRC at ServNV.org. Learn more about the MRC process here.
The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) volunteers are trained in disaster response and preparedness. If you would like more information about CERT and volunteering with them you can find it at washoecert.org.
Discover other local volunteer opportunities through NV Volunteer Connect at nvvolunteerconnect.org.
The COVID-19 Incident Management Team (IMT) is accepting donations of sterile, unopened Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) from businesses. In order to effectively manage these donations, the IMT is asking for any of the following:
- Masks – N95, surgical or dust
- Face shields
- Protective eyewear
Businesses that have ceased operations or have excess stock should call Washoe 311 (Dial 3-1-1) or email firstname.lastname@example.org if they have these unopened, sterile items. If the material is needed by the IMT, a representative of the Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (VOAD) will contact the business to arrange pick-up or delivery.
